True Strength Is Embracing Vulnerability

What does it mean to be weird? Is that the pejorative term conformists call the non-conformists and outliers? Is it not the outcasts who dare to think unconventionally that end up forging progress that benefits the whole of humanity?

Growth requires exposing oneself to risk and vulnerability. Those secure in their comfort will not know the meaning of boundless soaring. The limitations of the human imagination must always be pushed to the limit.

It requires no courage to submit to the established norms of the society in which one lives. This is exactly what cripples progress. Take the risk! Venture into uncharted lands! Disregard the irritating criticisms of trembling sycophants.

True strength is in recognizing the fearful uncertain future and proudly proclaiming “I will proceed evermore boldly nevertheless!” This is a sign of profound spiritual strength.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” Steve Jobs

Flagship Freedom interviews Danilo Cuellar on Peaceful Parenting

Danny and Michael recruit Peaceful Anarchism’s Danilo Cuellar to take on the infamous chapter 14 of Ethics, a portion of Rothbard’s philosophy dealing with children’s rights that has received a considerable amount of attention since its publication. Along the way, they touch upon Kinsella’s body/property ownership distinction, Child Protective Services, spanking, and animal rights.

Surround Yourself With People Who Inspire You

We must be civil and courteous to everyone we meet. If the sentiment is not reciprocated, respectfully retreat, no argument or hostility is required. There is no shame in accepting some people to be incompatible with one’s nature. We all discriminate with who we choose to spend the valuable finite amount of time we have on Earth. This is at the direct expense of other people. There is no time for insults, shaming, and degradation. Spend your precious time with only those who inspire, motivate, and uplift you. In helping each other we become stronger. The rising tide raises all boats.

Philosophy of Voluntaryism Ep 4: Non-Violent Communication, How To Build Bridges

Role playing games use skill points, experience points, and such to level up playable characters, learning how to communicate is a lot like that. We learn how to interact with others based on what people know while we are children first. We can only learn by social behavior to begin with.

After that we can ask other questions. However, learning how to communicate beyond what we pick up subconsciously seems to be a little more difficult. Words have meaning. And these meanings can be altered or interpreted differently based on a number of different stimuli.

Body language, tone of voice, inflection, word choice, and actual comprehended definition of a word can all affect the perspective of others we communicate with. Most importantly of all of these things is the difference between observation and judgment.
