Evil Resides In The Heart, Not In The Tool

“What did you think about the Oregon Community College shooting?”

It happened in a gun free zone where it was illegal for students and faculty to possess firearms to protect themselves. It seems as though this psychopath did not get the memo. Psychopaths do not obey laws. If laws truly prevent crime all we have to do to eliminate theft, rape, assault, and murder is to make them illegal. The more laws, the more criminals will be created who will inevitably find ways around the laws to achieve their psychopathic ends.

Beating, Strangling, Stabbing, and Gun Hypocrisy Double Standards

After the shooting “government” enacted a martial law lockdown of the college and treated all the students there as criminals with no individual rights. This was more a display of military might than it was for any practical or productive purposes. “Government” control is achieved when the populace is maintained in a constant state of fear and intimation. This is the climate wherein true sociopaths reign supreme.

Against Gun Ownership Fire Extinguisher and Fire Department Hypocrisy

What truly frightens me is the predicable response by politicians is to call for tighter gun control laws, regulations, and background checks. These fruitless actions only serve to further disarm the good obedient law abiding citizens whilst the psychopaths will obtain their firearms on the black market outside of “government” reach thereby leading to more mass shootings. The self-licking ice cream cone that is the State is revealed in all its horridness. The Hegelian Dialectic is a truly effective and sinister method for expanding State power. Moreover those who support gun control laws are not against guns, there are simply against the people owning guns, for in order for those guns to be confiscated they must be visited by agents of the State armed with guns. Therefore advocates for gun control laws support “government” police and any other militarized State agency as the sole monopoly on violence of the land.

Communist China Gun Control Preceded Extermination of Political Dissidents

A gun like a computer, car, hammer, ax, or chainsaw is merely a tool that humans use to improve their lives. Such inanimate objects have multiple uses depending on who uses them. That a drunk driver might kill a few people on the sidewalk does not justify imposing car control laws restricting car use for everyone else. That a hacker might use a computer to steal the account numbers of a few people does not justify imposing computer control laws restricting computer use for everyone else. That an ax might be used to kill a man and hack him into multiple pieces does not justify imposing ax control laws restricting ax use for everyone else. If guns kill people, then spoons make people fat and pens misspell words. Evil resides in the heart, not the tool.

When the people fear government there is tyranny. When government fears the people, there is freedom.

Blooded The Brave: Voluntaryist Rapper Discussing Man Down music video and Alternatives To Police

Please enjoy my recent conversation with Blooded The Brave. Herein we discussed his recent music video Man Down, police brutality, holding “government” accountable, monopoly on violence, irrational fear of business monopolies in a stateless society, slave on slave blaming the victim, battered citizen syndrome, no equality under the law, paying for our own oppression, security and protection is a natural demand, Free Markets hold criminals accountable, self-regulation, Statism starts with authoritarian parenting and government school, shoot first ask questions later, “government” creates poverty and gang violence, cops are timid and fearful cowards, more people die from FDA approved medications than hallucinogenic plants or entheogens, Hegelian dialectic, War on Terror, collateral damage, Department of Homeland Insecurity, TSA (Touch Sex Army), going along to get along, appeal to authority, instead of breaking the law join the Nazis and change it from the inside, the danger of street protests, vast majority of prisoners are for victimless crimes, petty infighting class warfare and more!

“The whole Good Cop / Bad Cop question can be disposed of much more decisively. We need not enumerate what proportion of cops appears to be good or listen to someone’s anecdote about his uncle Charlie, an allegedly good cop. We need only consider the following:

(1) A cop’s job is to enforce the laws, all of them;

(2) Many of the laws are manifestly unjust, and some are even cruel and wicked;

(3) Therefore every cop has to agree to act as an enforcer for laws that are manifestly unjust or even cruel and wicked.

There are no good cops.” Robert Higgs

The government, in its wisdom, perceives a problem (and Lord knows, there are always problems!). The government then intervenes to “solve” that problem. But lo and behold, instead of solving the initial problem, the intervention creates two or three further problems, which the government feels it must intervene to heal, and so on toward socialism.

The Philosophy of Liberty: What Is Voluntaryism?

The question, “What is Voluntaryism?” is one that brings me particular joy in answering when it is asked with an open mind. We all have different perspectives on religion, culture, government, and life. Such overwhelming variety in opinion can be discouraging to some, but I invite this as an intellectual challenge. It is only when you step out of your comfort zone and test unfamiliar waters do you grow in any respect. If you are comfortable and complacent in all that you do, then you are not trying hard enough. One must put oneself in the difficult situations of defending one’s position in the midst of formidable debaters. This is the fertile soil in which spiritual growth is encouraged and nourished. Stir the waters of entrenched corrupt interests! Do not allow evil to go unpunished! The incessant vexing of political crooks is the noble occupation of the virtuous.

A government is a compulsory territorial monopolist of ultimate decision-making (jurisdiction) and, implied in this, a compulsory territorial monopolist of taxation. That is, a government is the ultimate arbiter, for the inhabitants of a given territory, regarding what is just and what is not, and it can determine unilaterally, i.e., without requiring the consent of those seeking justice or arbitration, the price that justice-seekers must pay to the government for providing this service.

Hans-Hermann Hoppe

Law Enforcement Legal Plunder Hypocrisy

There are many blatant double standards that clothe the local monopoly on violence known as law enforcement. When some people are given superhuman rights over other people simply by virtue of their shiny piece of metal, costume, or special hat and are thus able to interpret the arbitrary political edicts at their discretion to murderous ends with immunity, it is quite apparent that we do indeed live in a state of chaos and disorder. They are entirely unaccountable for their actions and do not respond to the incentives and feedback mechanisms that bind the actions of a private security agency. Regardless of their heinous actions they will get paid through extorted funds, so what then is the incentive to treat the populace as customers to be satisfied? Rather the populace is viewed more and more as sheep to be frightened into submission.

Police Zone No Breathing

This also illustrates the lunacy of the notion “equality under the law”. When there is clearly a difference between the rulers and the subjects or the lords and their serfs, equality under the law becomes a laughable notion accepted only by the morally blind who, no doubt, have been raised to believe such contradictory nonsense through their “government schooling”. There never existed equality under the law, even back when the Constitution was just written, for the very reason that there has always been a clear separation between lawmakers and law-abiding citizens. It is the mark of a successful representative democracy to persuade the peasants into believing that they can influence the violent legislation that subjugates them nay that they are in control of their “government” at all. Man-made laws are ideas so good that they must be forced upon the population by pain of death.

Unquestioningly Obeying Authority

We live in an era of the appeal to force AKA argumentum ad baculum. He who has the bigger guns rules. In our current society it is “government” who holds most of the guns. By this logic if “government” can kidnap, cage, or murder you then they must be the rightful authority of all things moral and just. Just like superior numbers do not change the laws of morality so too does superior force not change the laws of morality. They may have most of the guns but their true power lies in the belief in authority AKA argumentum ad verecundiam. When the people stop believing “government” has such superhuman rights and stop giving them legitimacy for their evil, then they will be recognized as the liars, extortionists, thieves, molesters, rapists, and murderers that they are. The extent to which we choose to interact with our neighbor through the violence of “government” is the extent to which we have failed as a civilized society. The extent to which we live by the sword instead of by the plough is the extent to which we have chosen to become the monsters we fear our neighbors to be. Let us put the guns down to slough away our medieval Statist shell replete with mandates, rulers, and taxations. Let us relegate Statism to the dustbin of history along with the other demon children it has spawned such as war, genocide, chain slavery etc. Let us finally emerge to recognize the dawn of man’s true Renaissance, the age of voluntary interaction amongst peaceful people. When no one obeys, no one rules!

Should We End The Drug War

A free market in police would reward efficient and courteous police protection to customers and penalize any falling off this standard. No longer would there be the current disjunction between service and payment inherent in all government operations, a disjunction which means that police, like all other government agencies, acquire their revenue, not voluntarily and competitively from consumers, but from the taxpayers coercively.

Murray Rothbard
