Many people ask me, “But doesn’t your Free Market Capitalism system depend on people being generous angels? Without the State who will regulate the bad industries?” One of the main reasons why Free Market Capitalism works is because most people do want to trade voluntarily and peacefully. This is the only way that wealth is created and civilization develops. Wealth is not created by the wild adventurers of violent conquerors. Indeed this is how the delicate latticework of wealth of isolated peoples is wantonly destroyed.
There will always be the very small minority of psychopathic and sociopathic people who choose to use violence and threats of violence to solve their daily problems. When there exists no institution with the legitimate use of force AKA the State which would attract such vile people, they do not become a threat to anyone. The mafia differs from the State in that nobody hallucinates their use of force to be legitimate. Their commands and edicts are not viewed as laws and regulations. Their robbery is not viewed as taxation. Their kidnappings and murder is not viewed as the War on Drugs or the War on Terror. Their violent extortion racket is viewed as just that, a violent extortion racket.
Wealth is created by the billions of voluntary consensual transactions made by peaceful individuals that occur in the market economy every single day. These individuals likely know little to nothing about the price mechanism, competition, supply and demand, inflation, law of diminishing marginal utility, and Economics in general. Nevertheless unwittingly they are operating in accordance with these natural phenomena. Free Market Capitalism is based on human action. The true hidden beauty is that it is based on peace, love, and freedom.
It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.

Some people assert that we need the State because people are inherently evil and left to their own devices would rape and murder each other. It asserts that the State is the only entity responsible for the existence of civilization. This assertion contains various logical fallacies including the appeal to antiquity, appeal to authority, appeal to the stick, false dichotomy, and tautological contradiction of human nature.
The State is a parasite that fastens itself onto the neck of the industrious host. It produces no wealth and facilitates nothing. Indeed it is the broken window fallacy writ large. It destroy wealth due to its primary use of coercion and threats of violence that diverts valuable resources to achieve its ends. Civilization and free trade always precedes the State. Only when there is abundant prosperity can there exist a group of parasitical bureaucrats who siphon off a portion of that productivity by force to spend it on various boondoggles. It is not due to the State that civilization exists but entirely in spite of it. The State creates wealth like a tick creates blood.
Peaceful people engaging in voluntary consensual trade are what make the world a better place. Every voluntary transaction is the creation of wealth and the subsequent elevation of man’s default state of poverty. The best way to feed the poor and hungry is to free the market. The best way for people to defend themselves is to free the market. The best way to take care of the sick and elderly is to free the market. Freedom is the answer. What is the question?
If one rejects laissez faire on account of man’s fallibility and moral weakness, one must for the same reason also reject every kind of government action.
Some people assert the State is a tool we use to improve our lives and that, just like any tool, it can be used for good or for evil. The fundamental flaw in this argument is in the misunderstanding of the term “tool”.
A tool is an inanimate object such as a car, a shovel, a spoon, a computer, or a gun. Inanimate objects contain no inherent morality, indeed they are amoral. Morality is understood only as it pertains to human interaction. Tools are used by human beings to improve their lives or to commit evil immoral acts. If the tool is to blame then imprison the gun, the car, or the computer when a crime is committed. Understandably this never happens as it is commonly understood that the human being bears all the blame due to the presence of free will.
The State is not an inanimate object, rather it is a group of individuals each equipped with free will, who claim an exemption to the universal laws of morality. The fundamental immorality is the vast majority of those individuals choose to be order followers who, in doing so, perpetrate horrific atrocities without claiming responsibility. The diffusion of responsibility is rampant throughout the chain of obedience as everyone claims “I was just following orders” or “I’m just doing my job.” When no one is to blame, all are to blame, with significantly more blame placed on the last individual who actually carries out the order. It is he who transforms an order from mere words to an abominable action.
As long as human beings possess free will they can never be tools, for this would reduce them to soulless machines. This would strip them of their fundamental humanity and make them a shell of a human being. Every day we make choices that shape our future. True freedom is taking full responsibility for one’s actions. Embrace it unconditionally! Be the captain of your destiny! Be the master of your fate!
